EAN32, or Enriched Air Nitrox with a 32% oxygen content, is a preferred choice for Nitrox diving primarily because it allows for longer dive times with improved safety. The elevated oxygen content in EAN32 enables divers to extend their no-decompression limits, which means they can spend more time at certain depths without needing to perform mandatory decompression stops during their ascents. This capacity for extended bottom times is particularly advantageous for divers aiming to maximize their time underwater while minimizing the associated risks.

In addition, EAN32 helps to decrease nitrogen absorption compared to regular air, thus providing a safety margin that may contribute to lower incidences of decompression sickness. Furthermore, while it can support extended dive times, it is not accurate to state that it eliminates the need for safety stops or that it is the only Nitrox mix approved for diving.
